France not only for just married

Leaving the Brittany behind and going to the East there are 2 more places worth to see. So . let’s begin our journey.

Étretat- an amazing place for photographers and everyone who want to take some beautiful shots. Étretat is best known for its chalk cliffs whose were painted by the most known artists like French Impressionist Monet. For all visitors the color of the sea certainly won’t be missed either.  Personally I really loved rocks and little caves in the sea cliff. See for yourself.

We end up our visit to the north in Lille. In contrary to the previous places this is a big city agglomeration Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing c.a. 2 mln citizens placed just next to the Belgian frontier. Beautiful old town area, Notre Dame de la Treille cathedral is must-see, History Museum, ZOO Garden and all typical big-city facilities that I can’t even count them. Maybe it’s weird but from all of that places I really loved metro station Gare Lille Europe with fountains and huge wall covered with mosaic.

Today I want to continue this fascinating trip to Britany. Not going that far from St Mało there is a city of Dinan.

Dinan is a medieval town from the 13th century with perfect condition of old buildings and streets. Likely not that popular therefore not so overcrowded. It was like jump back in time. When I entered this city I started to feel this Asterix's time atmosphere immediately. 

Sticking around there is a place of Parc Botanique de Haute Bretagne in Chatellier which is „must see” for all nature and garden lovers. If you like to spend the whole day admiring beautiful trees flowers and view of rare flora examples this is the place for you. For younger visitors Minotaur’s labyrinth can also bring some fun,  having a break you can go to the cafe and buy nice souvenirs.

When we think about France it reminds us of romantic weekend in Paris, but in reality it’s much more interesting to see the outside destinations then only Paris itself. This huge country is divided into a couple of regions with many attractive places.  My today’s post is dedicated to Saint Malo and Le Mont Saint Michel, both of them are placed in north west of France (Brittany, Normandy).

Saint- Malo is known from the walled city which founded by pirates surrounded by couple of fortifications in the sea. Personally I loved beautiful beach just next to the wall, that during the ebb tide I admired dozens of different sea creatures first time in my life. After long day at the coast I recommend decent meal- crepes with chocolate and bananas, which you can eat in old town.

Even though Le-Mont-Saint Michel is really popular and overcrowded by tourists it’s worth to see as well. It’s an abbey located on the rocky island with the only road available during the ebb tide. For me it was fascinating that after few hours you can’t get back home because of high tide. Everybody should mention the middle age machinery supplying the food and stone blocks into the high abbey area.
